DELAWARE COUNTY, PA − October 28, 2026 − The Auditor General’s report released today regarding the Delaware County Intermediate Unit includes recommendations for increased internal controls over contracting and the use of taxpayer funds.

DCIU provides important resources and programs for Delaware County, supporting students, families, and educators across the region. Ensuring the integrity of its administrative and fiscal operations is essential to preserving that mission and maintaining public trust. Administrative and fiscal practices that ensure the DCIU remains a good steward of Commonwealth resources, and delivers on its mission, are critical.

We encourage the DCIU and the Auditor General’s office to continue working together and to act promptly on the recommendations that are expected following the completion of this process. Delaware County taxpayers deserve clarity on how public funds are being used, and transparency will be critical as these matters are addressed.

We appreciate the Auditor General’s work in conducting this audit and bringing these matters to light. We remain committed to ensuring that taxpayer resources are used responsibly and in accordance with state law, and we will continue proactive efforts to ensure that the DCIU is following the appropriate financial, administrative, and transparency requirements expected of any public entity.
